One thing I forgot to mention:  For the checkbox icon, I did various shields that hoplites would use (i.e. the Gorgon's head, the Spartan Lambda, etc.).  They're all checkboxes for the same Lock Shelds ablity, I just got carried away and did different icons.

What do you guys think, is it confusing?  Should they all have the same shield for the Lock Shields icon?

I'd go with the same shield icon.  KISS

Fair enough.  What shield icon do folks like?  I'm going to veto the Lambda for everyone.  I'm thinking either the gorgon or the pegasus.  Either of those sound good, or is another one better?

Gorgon. Most of the shield designs tried to scare the opponent IIRC from the stuff i have read.

The proxies have been updated with the Third Draft.  Also, instead of a summary, I have included an Army Builder with the Greek City-States incorporated as Mercenaries.  This means you can, for example, build a Hawkshold list with Greeks as mercenaries.

Say, has the V4.1 version of the proxies surfaced yet?

Yes they have.  Although I'm calling them the fifth draft, but they are ready to go.  The unit and card proxies are in PDF and the army builder is in excel.  I've even set up the army builder so you can play (for example), Ravenwood with Greek mercenaries.

I know Kevin is right about the "KISS" but I do like the different shields.

Yeah, I'm probably going to keep the different shields for different units.  It simply looks cool.

Are all the Phalanx units Ponderous?
On the unit cards and Army Builder the Spartiate and Periokoi are not listed as Ponderous. I think it would make sense that the two Elite units not be.

Nope, only the units that have Ponderous are so.  Spartiates and Perioikoi are not Ponderous, as they are a product of the proto-feudal system that was Sparta.  Spartans were full time soldiers able to train and drill constantly, hence their phalanxes are easier to maneuver.

Not necessarily.  You can have a veteran band of undisciplined Gallic warriors, for example.  The Sacred Band are pretty much that:  crack hoplites instilled with a refusal to break that exceeds that of even the Spartans.  But they didn't focus on the battle drill as much, and so aren't as maneuverable.
