Marcus, what are the hours that we are expecting to be playing again, please?
I see 10am - 11pm in a previous post above.  Is that firm?

I spoke with Scott from Highlander this week and he's aiming for an 11:00 start, so that should make life a bit easier.  There's also a Holiday Inn Express in Haskell literally a mile from my home.  It's 15 minutes from Boonton and 200 yards from the highway ramp you'd have to take to get there.  Laurel is cool with us putting somebody up for the night but I can only realistically do 1 person because we live in a 2 bedroom apartment and we only have a single couch.  I'm going to post some game details tomorrow.

Looking forward to the event!  BTW, because for me this is a vacation-within-a-vacation (Deb and I are going to NYC for a few days), I'll be travelling light.  Will have my army, dice, a pen, and my camera, but that's it and I'll be counting on others to provide maps, terrain, etc.

Alrighty then.  I've updated the first post in this thread with all the meaty details of the event so if you'd be so kind, follow the link below:

Also, I'm pretty set with maps unless we get more than 12 players.  If somebody wants to bring an extra map or two (literally), that would be great.  The same goes for terrain.  Kevin doesn't have to bring the centurion helmet if he doesn't elect to....

Nice. Can't wait for some sweet, sweet extra 250 points when I face one of these wolves!   ;D

Serious question:  is there any game effect for fighting for the God of War vs. the God of Sport?

Thanks Dave!  The terrain was my main concern because the random nature of the terrain in rounds 2 and 3 make it possible to have a bunch of the same terrain type in play at the same time.

Me and kevin shall be loading ourselves onto my war wagon to arrive in a timely fashion. The Orcs are on their way but I hear that the kingdom of Estalia might send an Imperial Legion to intercept.

Kevin will have green stuff in his stomach I shall have a child for breakfast we shall arrive in fullness.
The bull bears it's horns in hope. Hope to fend off those who would feed on it's love. The love of all the ones who held the wall upon which all memories have been written. Existence fussed to rip and explode the bull into the breach of threat. To scream in all the colors the essence of it's love.

I want to thank the staff at Highlander Games as well as all of you who showed up Saturday.  It was a nice turn out and a really solid event.  We played from 11:30 am - 11:30 pm.  Of the 11 participants, 8 stayed for the entire thing and we always had an even number of players so I never had to sit in as a ringer, keeping me available to make rulings, answer questions, and just plain schmooze.  I left my tracking sheet at home (posting this from work) so I'll do my best to remember this properly.

Participants with Over All Records
Kevin playing Wuxing 3-1
Eric playing Umenzi 3-1
Ron playing Persia 3-1
Brook playing Hawkshold 2-2
John playing Lizardmen 2-2
Jesus (AKA Josu, AKA Ostegun) playing Rome 2-2
Becky playing Monsters & Mercenaries 1-0
Chris playing Undead 1-1
Matt playing Dwarves 0-1
Rylan playing Elves of Ravenwood, switching to Dwarves for final round 0-2 (give him a break, he's 11)
Dave playing Hawkshold 0-4 (not as bad as it looks.  All his games where super close and I saw him intentionally do something to give Becky the win in the 1st round where he was already handicapped)

I'll post the specific match ups later when I have time.  Some quick factoids:

Ron drove down from Maine, the crazy guy!
Eric drove down from Syracuse ON HIS BIRTHDAY, the crazy guy!
Dave drove down from Albany, that crazy guy!
Kevin came down to NYC from Boston, then hitched a ride out of NYC from Jesus who came from Brooklyn, those crazy guys!
Kevin lost his first game to Brook, spoiling his shot to go undefeated right off of the bat
Matt had only played 2 games before showing up on Saturday.  His wife Becky had played only 1.
John had only played about half a dozen total games before showing up on Saturday and managed to go 2-2.

If you are on Facebook, you can see photos in the link below.  I'll work to get proper image posts later this week.

Marcus, thanks so much for the invite. I had a blast and learned a lot.

Thanks also to those matched up with me. You were all so generous with your coaching and enthusiasm. I count my wins as your victories.

I look forward to hanging out with you again.
