If the NJ/NY guys know what you want for lunch on Saturday, let us know now and we will arrange to have that ready.
I'd really like something that has calories of some sort.

Another decision for the Friday night arrivals:  Eric, Kevin & Ron

Two options.

Option 1.  Play Friday night, stay up past midnight.  Sleep in a bit, casual Saturday morning.  Probably don't play until after the southern reinforcements arrive for lunch.

Option 2.  Casual Friday night, no Battleground.  Hang and chill.  Go to sleep at a reasonable time.  Get up early enough to get a full game in before lunch.

The sooner we decide this, the sooner I can give Doug (local) guidance about the best time for him to arrive.

Ron and I will be getting there around 10 and it could be slightly later. I definitely won't be up for a game.  Ron gets up at 5am so I'm guessing he'll be wiped, though I'm not his mother so obviously he can stay up as late as he wants.

That said, just because Ron (probably) and I can't play Friday night doesn't mean you & Eric shouldn't.  It would be fun to watch the end of a game after we get in.

No problem at all.  I think "chill Friday, get up earlier Saturday" is a somewhat better plan anyway.

Also, I just thought of something tangentially related...

It is very hard to hear the doorbell in the Game Room (adding more chimes is on the list of 157 things to do).

So, if you ring the bell and we don't answer the door within 30 seconds or so, feel free to come in and announce yourself.  The game room is down the long hallway, after you walk up the five steps to the living room.

If my Early Onset Alzheimer's acts up and I forget to keep the front door unlocked, your second option is to walk around to the back of the house and knock on the back door.  That is the door to the game room.  We should be able to hear that.

Option 3 is to call and say you are here.  There is a phone in the game room.

We had a great time and Dave's house/facility is quite impressive.  It was great to see everybody and we had some great games go down.  Thanks again to Dave for his hospitality and his grade A hosting prowess.  Well done!

Yeah, great time, and great place!  I'll post photos/reports (one game at least) in the near future.

No mint left on pillow.
Bed sheets where not changed for second night.
Do not recommend staying at this hotel.

True, the Days Inn Schenectady is miles better.  And they've got a continental breakfast to die for.

Thank you Dave. Had a great time. :)

Belated thanks to everyone who attended and made it an excellent weekend of Battleground fun!
Extra thanks to Eric for making the suggestion to get the ball rolling.
Let's do it again in the Spring!

FYI, and a reminder to all you old Star Fleet Battles grognards...
(I'm not sure how many of you are still getting the SWA-SFB emails)

Similar in format to the recent BFW day, I will be hosting SFB day on Saturday, January 14th.  That's about a week and a half away.

Six committed so far.  Most of the beds are claimed, but if you want to stay over, we will find a spot for you.

See you at TotalCon, if not sooner.

I would love to but I took Christmas week off so I gotta be a good boy and work Saturdays until TotalCon; I am hoping to accumulate enough karma/brownie points to go Friday through Sunday. I am looking at booking a room in the next couple days unless someone already has one and wants to share.

We have a room booked for Totaly Con if you want to tag along Ron.  Brook and I for sure with a 3rd person likely (most likely Chris) so if you don' mind being the 4th guy, it's all good!

There is a slim chance Brook and I will make it up this weekend for some SFB abuse (I used to be really good and now I blow) and we'll see hos stuff shakes out for a visit to Die Haus Der Cheng.
