Sure thing:  After deployment, mark 2 units.  Whenever each of these units is engaged and does zero damage in an attack, it instead does 1 damage.  This effect happens after any similar effect (e.g. Carthage's Determination), but before damage prevention.

Blakely had this one year against my monsters and mercs.  She was playing Wuxing and she gave her two monk units the "sure thing" abilty and matched them up against my two earth elementals.  It ended up being very bad for me and quite frustrating I might add.

I can guarantee that wasn't the case, as I made that upgrade up several days ago.  Though there was a Special Situation which allowed you to choose an upgrade and guaranteed-one-point was among them.  Pretty sure that was only on one unit, though it may have been on 2.

I was the same ability with a different name.  And it was on both of her units.

It was this game. http://ymgforum.com/index.php/topic,10155.0.html

Ah right.  2 years ago.  Of course, you did win that game.  ;)

I actually lost.  I played the orcs in the Sunday Swiss and got some payback.

Thanks for coming, everyone!  :)

Here were the results:

Saturday:  With a perfect 8 people, we elected to do 3 rounds rather than 4.

#1:  Ron (Persia):  3-0
#2:  Jaime (Ravenwood) 2-1
#3:  Brook (Orcs):  2-1
#4:  Kevin (Hawkshold):  2-1

Marcus (Dwarves), Eric (Wuxing) and Dave (Lizardmen) all went 1-2, while Blakely (Umenzi) went 0-3.

Sunday:
Semifinals:  Kevin's Hawkshold won vs. Ron's Persians.  Jaime's Ravenwood won vs. Brook's Orcs.

Finals:  Kevin's Hawkshold won vs. Jaime's Ravenwood.

Tiebreaker for third:  Ron's Persians won vs. Brook's Orcs Goblins.

Sunday "Swiss":  Blakely's Dwarves won vs. Marcus's Monsters & Mercs.

I'll try to get photos up in the near future.

Thanks as always for running the championship Kevin.

I had a lot of fun even with my losing record :(

Cards are definitely good to have, but I like punching my opponent in the face, too!

It was a seriously tough crowd!  Every person but one there had made the final 4 at Championship in a previous year, the one exception being Ron who ironically went undefeated on Saturday.

I'm late to the boat here but I want to thank Kevin again for running an excellent event.  I had a great time as always.  However, poor Blakely had to spend waaaaaay too much time seated across a table from me.  I hope she recovers.

Thanks, Kevin. It was a great tournament, and I am not just saying that because I won so much. No one is more shocked about that than I am.  :o
It feels sorta like my first SFB tournament: The only person to beat me was Kevin, so against normal human beings that is like being undefeated.   :P
Seriously, though, it was a gauntlet of top level players and I felt like all my matches were within one roll of the dice from going completely the other way.

I can't decide whether I am more jealous of Marcus or Blakely.  ;)
